You cannot pick which Nightlord appears during a Deep of Night run.

Dynamic terrain changes will not be applied while running this mode.

New, exclusive rewards appear — including Depths Relics and weapons that provide multiple powerful bonuses at the cost of harmful side effects.

Difficulty rises as your Depth increases; your rating shifts with wins and losses and determines Depth placement.

To unlock Deep of Night you must have defeated the Nightlord called Night Aspect.

Deep of Night is online-only — if you began offline, choose “Login” from the title screen to connect to the servers.

Expeditions support 1–3 players; invite friends through your platform’s invite system or use multiplayer passwords.

When playing multiplayer, matchmaking typically pairs you with others at a similar Depth level.In the Deep of Night mode, successfully defeating Nightlord targets will increase your rating while failures will decrease it. The amount by which your rating decreases upon failure varies depending on the progress of the session. Rating changes are the same for both single and multiplayer modes. If you disconnect or quit the game during a multiplayer session, you will incur a penalty and your rating will decrease. Returning to the session immediately after disconnecting will remove any penalties incurred at the time of disconnect, and the rating at the time of disconnect will not be recorded.
